Project Info:
One of my most difficult FX projects. This was done by creating puzzle piece textures that was converted to geometry. Creating the model of the trophy and being able to break it up into puzzle pieces was very difficult and tedious. Most of the simulations were done in reverse then baked out then flipping the simulation. Creating the shatter was done using a script that enabled me to move around a field in real time while Maya was playing the animation. I was basically painting the way I wanted the shatter to behave using a radial field.
